The Blooms for Bees app will allow you to explore which bumblebees visit gardens and allotments, and discover which flowers are bumblebee favourites, in the United Kingdom.Gardens and allotments offer us an amazing opportunity to create vibrant flower rich habitats to support bumblebees.
Despite this, little is known about which bumblebee species visit these spaces, or which flowers are the most important sources of nectar and pollen.
You can help us develop a better understanding of which flowers bumblebees like to visit by observing and submitting information about the flowers in your garden or allotment.
The data generated by this project will help develop our understanding of bumblebee foraging in gardens and allotments, and improve recommendations about which flowers we should grow more of.
Blooms for Bees is a collaboration between Coventry University, the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), Bumblebee Conservation Trust (BBCT) and Garden Organic, and is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
